Configure Search Agent

Install or update the Vectara agent that powers AI mode. The agent runs server-side with the system instruction below and uses the altera_docs_search tool to ground every answer in docs.altera.com.

How this works

Clicking Install creates the agent on your Vectara account via POST /v2/agents. If the agent already exists, the call upserts via PUT, so the same button is the create-and-update affordance. Each time you reinstall, the next chat turn opens a fresh session against the updated definition. Uninstall removes the agent entirely with DELETE.
